Coolum District Netball Association is thrilled to announce our application to the Australian Government’s $200 million Play Our Way program has been successful. The Play Our Way program was established to promote equitable opportunities for women and girls to benefit from sport at all levels and locations, by addressing the barriers they experience when participating in sport and physical activity.

The nationwide grant opportunity offered two streams:

o   Stream 1: Facilities – to support new and upgraded facilities, playing areas, or spaces for sport and physical activity, specifically for women and girls.

o   Stream 2: Participation and equipment – to support sustainable and enduring sport participation programs and/or new or upgraded equipment, specifically, for women and girls.

After a highly competitive process, Play Our Way is allocating funding to 290 organisations across Australia. Our program application will receive funding under the FACILITIES STREAM.

Coolum Netball will be using the grant funding to upgrade our lighting infrastructure and resurface our courts. This upgrade will significantly enhance the quality of court lighting for our competitions and extend the usability of our facilities by enabling remote access to the lighting system.  The resurfacing of the courts will provide a much-needed refresh, enhancing player safety and overall experience.

These improvements will create more opportunities for our community by making our facilities more accessible and appealing, so women and girls in our community can easily access and enjoy playing sport and being active.

With the upcoming school holidays and the break between Season 1 and Season 2, Coolum Netball will take this opportunity to undertake the necessary works to complete these projects. Our facilities will be closed from June 13th to July 28th, 2025, unless advised otherwise.

Please note that the completion of these projects is weather dependent. By scheduling these works during the season break we aim to minimise disruption to our netball programs.
